Pine Bolt

As the trees shed their summertime clothes, Pine Bolt rises from piles of fallen foliage. Our latest West Coast IPA entry is one modeled after those that brought so many of us into craft beer 10 or 20 years ago. Following up on our draft-only Proenneke, we wanted to revisit the balance of bitterness, big hop aroma and malt, with some newer techniques worked in.
7.5% West Coast IPA that uses an all-base-malt foundation for a little color and heft without slipping into caramel sweetness. A faceted hop spree brings pine, grapefruit and floral citrus. Clear and light orange in the glass, with a malty start that closes bitter and dry.
