DEN Kolsch releases today to officially open Half Acre beer garden season. A clean and subtle fruit profile at 4.9% ABV, Den is endlessly refreshing on warm, sunny afternoons with the potential to hang well after the sun sets.

For a younger Duncan working in the taproom, this was the first non-hoppy beer from Half Acre that delved into the wonders of European malts and Noble hops. And now as a seasoned brewer, Duncan is responsible for turning us all on to the Continental pleasures of Den. It starts with imported Cologne malt for that honey-doused biscuit profile and Saaz hops which add herbal spiciness and hay aromas. The pomme fruit on the nose comes from the Kolsch ale yeast. A long stay cold conditioning in the cellar results in a super clean body matched with a firmly dry finish that makes Den so crushable.
