Follow Up

A couple of weeks ago we posted in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Since then we have been sifting through our own practices, shortcomings, and realities.. Half Acre does not currently reflect the inclusivity we claim to value as a Chicago Beer Company, and we regret not doing more sooner to alter that reality.

Comfort is not the goal here. The goal is to do the ongoing work that is necessary to make Chicago, and craft beer within Chicago, a more equitable space. Current plans include partnering with Black-run initiatives who are already working towards a more equitable system. The initiation of programs focused on connecting Half Acre career opportunities to BIPOC. The support of Black creators in our retail shop and the continuation of our own education, accountability, humility, and engagement. 

You will see the outcome of this work, refinement, and additions in the days, months and years to come.
