Big Hugs is BACK this Friday December 4th
This year, the 12th year we’ve brewed Big Hugs Imperial Stout with Dark Matter Coffee, we bring you three different beers. With each, we aim for the dynamic results found in core raw materials that offer you an extremely rich pint of stout. Big Hugs lives in the in-between place found above everyday stout and comfortably below the decadence of extreme gravity dessert stout. An Imperial Drinking Stout mindfully groomed for pint glasses.
The coffees used this year are Pacas Viejo, grown by the Pacas family on the mountainsides of Santa Petrona in El Salvador and Catuai, grown on the San Jeronimo Miramar farm in the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala, fermented with a Trappist beer yeast strain, a process unique to their work with Dark Matter. Both coffees were sourced and roasted by @darkmattercoffee.
Big Hugs Imperial Coffee Stout – soft, natural stout splashed with very fine coffee. Rich drinking with notes of bakers chocolate, dried fruit and coffee all over. 10% ABV. ($19.99 – 16oz 4pk)
Big Hugs Imperial Coffee Stout with Vanilla – soft, natural stout splashed with very fine coffee and high levels of Madagascar Vanilla Beans. All the base bang smothered in the silk that only vanilla can offer. 10% ABV. ($21.99 – 16oz 4pk)
Big Hugs Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Coffee Stout with Vanilla – soft, natural stout splashed with very fine coffee and high levels of Madagascar Vanilla Beans set in bourbon barrels. The full venn diagram layering your senses with flavors of charred caramel stout, bourbon and café coffee. 12% ABV. ($21.99 – 16oz 2pk)
Big Hugs and its two variants will be available to purchase online through our to-go websites beginning this Friday at 9am for pick-up at our Balmoral Take Away Cafe or Lincoln Curbside locations.
In order to keep things as safe as possible for everyone, we want to remind you that you can pick-up your order at the location of your choosing on any day and time (during our regular business hours) throughout the next week. We appreciate if you adhere to the day and time you chose so that we can properly space our orders.
Proxies are allowed. You must enter your proxy name at checkout under “add an additional note to the seller”. The proxy name listed must match the proxy name on the ID of the person picking up.
Due to limited in-house supply, we are placing a 2 per person limit on Big Hugs Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Coffee Stout with Vanilla. If you can’t snag it at either of our brewery locations, look for it out in the world. Big Hugs and both its variants hit distribution starting Monday, December 7th.
We’d love to have everyone over to our brewery and drink this beer standing up while chewing the fat about nothing in particular, but it’s not in the cards this year. We hope you grab some Big Hugs and make an event out of the very simple act of enjoying a robust and beautiful STOUT.
