Procurement & Inventory Specialist

Job Summary

The Procurement & Inventory Specialist will be responsible for procuring all materials and managing all inventory for the business. This position reports to the CFO.

The anticipated salary for this position is $65,000 – $75,000/annually (actual compensation will be determined based on knowledge, experience, skills, and other factors permitted by law).

Duties/Responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the Purchase & Procurement of all raw materials, supplies, and merchandise needed for the business.
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase order data: including items, quantities, due dates, special instructions, price, terms and conditions, and receipt dates.
  • Resolve order and billing discrepancies with vendors.
  • Return or dispute purchases that are not acceptable or do not meet specifications.
  • Monitor performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet price, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Onboard new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Work with department heads to evaluate alternate sources of supply and pursue opportunities that will improve our cost position.
  • Review weekly inventory counts and depletion calculations prepared by Hospitality Manager and Toast POS. Ask for recounts as needed.
  • Prepare inventory counting and posting entries in ERP system to reflect accurate volume and cost of retail beer sales each week.
  • Track raw material & packaging inventory and oversee material ordering to execute production schedules.
  • Participate in new packaging material item setup and procurement (labels, printed cans, cardboard trays, etc.) to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ensure all inventory is accurately tracked and reported. Lead monthly inventory counting process.
  • Maintain updated SOPs for procurement and inventory management process.
  • Oversee removal of spent production materials (sidestream waste, spent grain, recycled materials, oak barrels, etc.) with help from department leaders.
  • Continually improve NetSuite/Crafted to best satisfy production tracking needs, and train users annually
  • Work to achieve KPI goals within the production department, which includes regular tracking and review with CFO.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Possess a passion for working within and continually improving a robust safety culture and ensuring the production team operates in a safe manner
  • Possess broad understanding of the production processes at Half Acre Beer Company
  • Possess intimate understanding of purchasing, forecasting, and inventorying processes
  • Possess superior communication skills necessary to effectively manage a team and work effectively with other company departments
  • Possess superior communication skills and professionalism necessary to communicate outwardly with sales partners and raw materials suppliers
  • Ability to remain calm and provide leadership during emergency production situations
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities where appropriate

Beneficial Experience

  • Must be 21 + years old.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain & inventory management.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Toast point-of-sale experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Problem solving with ability to recognize and solve issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time

Paid Sick Time:
