Ten months ago we hunkered down and turned in to better Half Acre.

We redesigned our entire facility to best brew and sell our beer. Our brewery got a complete overhaul & expansion, the store was improved and we added a Tap Room.

In that time we haven't done all that much out in the world, we've been quiet and focused on the task at hand. We're pleased to announce that it's complete. Our brewing company is primed and we can now turn out and refocus our attention.

We've been brewing one-off and specialty beers with fervor in preparation for our Tap Room opening. The Tap Room will be closing a gap that's existed for some time. With its opening, we bring you into the fold and invite you into our space. Our brewery sends beer to many places in Chicagoland where people have built rooms for you to enjoy, but this is our room.

Our aim is to open with a number of specialty beers. Some of these beers will be very hop forward. One of them is Space, an India Pale Ale that we brewed a version of before, but under the name Daly Double. This beer is a tribute to a friend that passed away last year. Space was his nickname as a young man and this beer will be a regular offering at our brewery only; our way of keeping him a regular.

The other is Vallejo, an India Pale Ale pulled from the rocky cliffs of your mind. Both Space and Vallejo are pure examples true-to-form of hop thrashers. Hoppy beers are as common as dirty socks. Some may hear the vinyl skipping, but for us hops are the meat of the rhythm that brought us to the show. Hoisting pints of seminal hop screamers from brewers turning out beers with rough tools is what holds our aim and keeps us honest. We salute refinement, but rally around the indulgence of the beast that brought us to the table. Space & Vallejo are raw, naked examples of micro built beers that stick to your ribs. Here's to what's in your guts.
